SOAP MAKING COURSES

Making your own soap is not only a great way to use less plastic and reduce your household waste, but it is an enjoyable creative activity, and the results make great gifts!

You’ll learn how to make soap safely with the help of an instructor. You’ll be able to choose your own fragrance, colorants and decorative botanicals to create your own custom bars.

All materials, equipment and safety gear are provided.

Helen Cross is a co-founder of North Devon Soap. She has been a special needs class class teacher for over ten years teaching across the full curriculum.

BEGINNERS SOAP MAKING COURSE: Saturday 16th October 2021 (Morning - 10am start.)

LEARN HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN BODY WASH AND SHAMPOO SOAP BARS!

North Devon Soap are hosting two beginners soap making courses at Broomhill Art Hotel & Sculpture Garden, Muddiford, Barnstaple (EX31 4EX) on Saturday 16th October 2021.

Using 100% natural butters, oils and botanicals, you will discover the ancient art of cold process soap making. You will learn about the history of soap making, the ingredients you are using, how to make 100% natural soap bars using the cold process method plus plenty of tips and tricks from the soap maker herself!

Your day will look like:

- Arrival & Introductions

- A guide to soap making theory

- Soap Making Demonstration by the Soapmaker, Helen Cross

- Time to make your soap

- Lunch in the restaurant courtesy of Broomhill Dining

- Free entry to Broomhill Art & Sculpture Gardens 

All soap making equipment is provided. Please bring a towel and a cardboard box at least the size of a shoe box (you will need this to take your soap home).


This course will start at 10:00am and will last up to 2.5 hours with lunch starting between 12:15-12:45. Your course fee of £80 includes the course, the soap bars you take home, lunch as guests of Broomhill Dining and all day access to the Sculpture Gardens.

In line with Government guidelines, face masks are not required but please feel free to wear one should you wish to. Please note, PPE is provided as standard when making soap.
